About Us
Every Kid Counts (EKC) is a non-profit 501 (C) public charity, allowing youth’s to participate in programs giving them a great opportunity to learn, be involved and find solutions to the challenges they are facing in today’s society. EKC was founded on March 24, 1994 in a group effort from: Robert Perelka, Gordon & Kay Le Blanc, Jr., Michael Gibson, Sherdick Bonner and Calvin Schexnayder. Along with the founders the Every Kid Counts was made possible by the dedication from many individual business and community leaders, through their ideas and support of children’s charity programs.
Today the charity is structured by two levels of leadership to provide the maximum amount of support and guidance to insure that the directive and mission of Every Kid Counts is carried out and preserved for future growth and success.
Levels Of Leadership
The Executive Board consists of 11 officers that manage the day-to-day operations and guidance of the organization. Each officer shall hold office for a two-year term and until his or her successor has been elected and qualified. The Board of Directors manages all business and affairs of the organization, which consist of 21 members. The function of the Board is to provide support to the officers and to participate and provide assistance in the organizations various functions and programs.
